Top 10 Blogs to Follow for Priceless Info – on blogging, managing money + more!

When I started my blogging journey, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing.

I still don’t even know half of what there is to know.

I started out just throwing out content and waiting for the views. Ya know, kind of a “If you build it, they will come” deal.

Bonus points for whoever knows that reference!

I was publishing 2-3 posts a day, with the mindset of more is better.

I mean, I used tags, so that means whenever someone does a search with that word, my site will come up…right?

Sorry to say, but that is not necessarily how it works.

So, then i just needed more eyes on it.

Ok, no problem.

Bought a $7 promotion through my Facebook page. BAM! Over 1500 sets of eyeballs saw me that week!

Problem was, the views were only on the Facebook page ad, not my Facebook page or on my actual site, which is where I wanted them.

I kept writing content and publishing and inviting my Facebook friends and family to like my page, but never really interacted with it. The only time anything posted to my Facebook page was when I published a new post on my blog.

I started losing motivation. I knew I was doing something wrong or missing something…or something. But I just couldn’t figure it out myself.

So I took a stroll down Pinterest Lane and came across a lot of really great information to help give me confidence and boost my motivation again!

All of this information came from other ladies writing blogs, too!

These blogs were just stuffed to the brim with priceless information about how to start a blog, why your blog isn’t going anywhere, why you aren’t making money from your blog, how you can save money, other ways (outside of blogging) to make money, etc, etc.

I spent the good part of two weeks just reading and absorbing everything I could.

I subscribed to their blogs, along with a few others, and got even more great information!

For FREE!

All I had to do was give them my email address so they knew where to send their awesome, only-for-subscribers info, and BAM! There was even more awesome stuff I wouldn’t have been able to get just on the site alone, right in my inbox!

I know, I know. You’re just chompin’ at the bit. “Get on with it already woman! Tell us your secret ways of the force!”

Ok. That’s probably not exactly what you’re thinking, but close, right?

Anyhoodles (bt dubs, I got that from my sister who got it from a friend, and I just fell in love with it. So I stole it. MUAHAHA Older sisters have that right, ya know 😉 )

NOW…FOR THE MOMENT YOU’VE ALL…

Sorry, I don’t know why I need to make this so dramatic.

OH! That’s right! Because the content in these top 10 blogs I’m about to share with you is dramatically incredible!

Top 10 Blogs to Follow for Priceless Info

Twins Mommy – Millennial mom, freelancer, & entrepreneur

Twins Mommy was the first blog I came across, created by Elna Caine.

TwinsMommy Increased Pinterest Followers top 10 blogs to followI saw this pretty image that said How I Increased My Pinterest Followers from 600 to 1.6K in 2 Months, and I thought, hellz yeah! I need that information! I don’t even have 600 followers! I figured 600 to 1.6k would be like my 30 to 300. Works for me!

I saved the pin, then opened the site to find a very clean, simple yet alluring page that was TwinsMommy.com.

She starts out with some backstory, which was great, and includes links to other articles on her blog that are related and useful.

Then she jumps into her numbers. She explains where she was when she started, and even includes screenshots, which is awesome! She then compares it to where she is now (at the time of posting) and then shows whether she met her goals for the month.

If she didn’t meet her goal, she isn’t afraid to show it! But what she does is set goals for the following month and what she is going to do about the goals she didn’t meet.

Elna also has information on staying productive, working from home, and a few articles on what it’s like raising twins!

If you want simple, straight to the point information, definitely check out Twins Mommy!

Candidly Jules – From scratch to success, I’ve got ya covered!

Jules really went bright and bold with her blog! It definitely catches the eye and pulls you in! She kept it nice and simple though, not having to guess what you’re doing on her site!

I honestly think that How to Effectively Kill Your Blog in 3 Easy Steps is CandidlyJules How to destroy business top 10 blogs to followone of my favorites of hers! It pinpoints everything you need to have for a successful blog, just in a funny, sarcastic, backwards way. She discussed three main points for having a successful blog: Content, Trust, and Credibility, and goes into detail about each one and how they are important, by telling you how to fail at them!

Jules puts a fun little twist into her writing which makes it truly enjoyable to read, and is definitely what captured me!

She also provides several opportunities within her site to connect, not just with her but with the blogging community. She shares her Facebook group, free stuff when you subscribe, and several paid courses you can take in The Tank.

This girl truly has a lot of awesomeness going on!

Writing Revolt – No bullshit advice for bloggers & freelance writers

So I’m not gonna lie when I tell you that Jorden’s writing style is my absolute favorite. Just, seriously take a look for yourself.

WritingRevolt 5k a month business top 10 blogs to followHow I Built a $5000/month Freelance Writing Business in 4 Months was the article that caught my eye while I was strolling down Pinterest Lane.

This article takes you into her life and what had to happen for it to turn around, showing how sometimes unfortunate events are actually (cliche-ingly) a blessing.

She literally takes us month by month in those four months and shares with us exactly what she did in order to reach her goal, which is something else she puts emphasis on.

She sums up her month by month breakdown with the main takeaways, and her very first one is making sure to set an income goal. Having a goal in mind and reminding yourself of it regularly helps keep you on track, focused, and motivated.

Something else totally awesome she started including is Freelance Writing Comics. She found an illustrator to work with to create some awesome comics about what it’s like being a freelance writer.

Also, she writes for hire, meaning if you need something spectacular to include on your blog to gain more traffic, she’s there for ya!

Overall, my favorite writing style. I wish I was as bold and brave as Jorden, but I don’t think my grandma would appreciate it!

Making Sense of Cents – Earn more. Save more. Live more.Making Sense of Cents May 2016 Income top 10 blogs to follow

Ok, you can’t tell me that when you see this image it doesn’t peak your interest, even a little bit.

I mean, $70k a MONTH from blogging? No way. That’s INSANE!

Needless to say, this is the pin that grabbed me and reeled me in.

Michelle, owner of Making Sense of Cents, writes an income report every month, and looking back on all of them, they just keep going up!

She gives a little intro on why she posts her income reports and how she believes it is helpful, since that is what motivated her to start.

She breaks down each area she receives income from and how much she made from it. The majority of her income comes from affiliate links! That’s awesome!

She then links back to a few previous income reports so you can compare them yourself, but then compares last month with this month.

She then gives a little update on the blog and how it is doing, then ends her post with a featured question from a reader. I really love the fact that she does this, because usually there isn’t just one person curious about that question, but may be the only one not too introverted to be able to voice the question.

Michelle’s blog is definitely one I turn to when I need a little monetary motivator! I may never reach those numbers, but I know I can reach more than I have now!

Michelle also includes so many other categories on her site, some include credit cards, weddings, traveling, retirement, and so much more! Definitely a jack of all trades!

Wonderlass – Build a business you love in a fun, colorful way!

Wonderlass grew traffic by 800% top 10 blogs to followAllison created a very fun, colorful site full of awesomeness!

Since one of my focuses is growing traffic, How I Grew My Blog Traffic by 800% in just 4 months, and how you can too! was the post that definitely got my attention.

In this post, she breaks down 10 ways to increase blog traffic, among them are defining a business plan, creating original content, networking, and getting in tune with your audience.

She has a really great personality that definitely shines through her writing! Another blog that is absolutely enjoyable to read!

Allison also offers a Facebook page to join, courses to take, and free videos jam-packed with great information.

If you like spunky, a writing style full of personality, and colorful…everything! then check out Allison’s Wonderlass!

Believe In A Budget

Kristin has created a very delightfully simple blog with loads of great financial information.

Yet, this is another one with income reports that caught my attention.

Her latest income report was over $7k! I make that in like…a half a year!Believe in a Budget May 2016 income top 10 blogs to follow AND I bet she spends less time working than I do, and spends more time doing the things she loves, and doesn’t have to deal with a boss hovering over her and…

Yeah. I’ll take that with a side of fries, please!

She starts out with her previous goals and a few previous income reports, then jumps into the nitty-gritty details on where she made her money and how much.

Not only does she show the numbers, but she explains each area as well, which is incredibly helpful, especially to a newb like myself!

She doesn’t stop there folks! She also includes her business expenses for that month, estimates taxes, and gives a real-life number on what she took home! That’s the kinda stuff I love!

Kristin also offers several different courses on her site (here & here), an e-book, and the opportunity to work with her.

Glamorous Glitter – Imka Webb

I mean, who doesn’t love a site called Glamorous Glitter?? Amirite?Glamorous Glitter blog titles top 10 blogs to follow

Imka is a blogger based out of South Africa and has tons of helpful information.

One of my faves of hers is 2 Steps to Create Blog Post Titles That Will Get Your Blog Read. She goes into detail on her strategy when choosing the best post title for her article and her audience. It’s a pretty simple process, but something some writers (aka myself) need some help on. I know what kind of titles catch my attention, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will catch the attention of others.

I am (hopefully!) getting better as I fine tune my space and actually start narrowing down my niche and audience. Time will tell!

Imka also offers a couple different resources, including a FREE e-book, plus several other paid e-books.

Also, it looks like she is planning on writing for hire in the near future! Which is great news, because she writes some real meaty content!

Sweet Tea LLC – Education & encouragement for bloggers & creatives

Kirsten has such sweet, caring, nurturing personality in her writing. She says she is “crazy passionate about helping women bloggers & creatives…”, which, by all the content she shares, I absolutely believe!

Sweet Tea LLC 6 Online toolsOne really helpful post was 6 Online Tools That Keep My Business Running Efficiently. She shares with us what those tools are and how she uses them. Something else awesome that she includes is video snippets on how she uses the tools, in case someone (aka me) is more of a visual learner.

She is all about encouragement, so she has a whole category dedicated for that. You can definitely feel her passion for what she does in her writing!

Kirsten offers so many resources, including podcasts, free library of resources when you subscribe, and coming soon, a membership blog community called The Mason Jar.

Frugal on the Prairie – Allison Lindstrom

Frugal on the Prairie Increase Pinterest followers top 10 blogs to followAllison created a very charming site that is very user-friendly. There’s no question of what your looking at or clicking on!

The post that she wrote that pulled me into her site was, again, a post about increasing following.

How I Increased My Pinterest Followers by over 7800 in 90 Days discusses one of Allison’s tools she uses in order to gain an incredible following on Pinterest. She explains the tool and step-by-step explains different settings she uses in order to help boost her numbers. It is definitely something I am going to be looking into!

She also offers courses, including a free one, webinars, and information on managing money.
